TYPE & LETTERFORMS
I approach type design as both a historical practice and a living system. I love exploring letterforms across systems, tools, and materials—from type design to calligraphy to print! My work is interested in how language takes shape: how it’s constructed, reproduced, and transformed across contexts. I’m especially interested in how type carries language, culture, and technology across contexts. Moving between studying existing forms and constructing new ones, translating between analog processes and digital tools is where I enjoy playing.
Memphis Modern
Memphis Modern (2025) is a typeface revival inspired by [insert original reference—be specific if you can].
It explores the tension between expressive, postmodern forms and contemporary typographic systems.
Bopomofont
BoPoMoFont (2025) is an original typeface exploring the visual and linguistic structure of Bopomofo (Zhuyin).
Calligraphy
My type work is informed by studying how forms are written by hand.
Through Chinese calligraphy, I pay attention to stroke order, rhythm, and the relationship between structure and gesture.
