Lettering
Overview
Lettering across Uncial, Copperplate, Gothic Textura, Blackletter, and Cancellaresca—exploring historic scripts through varied pens and nibs.
Context
Rooted in the history and theory of type design, this body of work is driven by study and practice—beginning with hand lettering, calligraphy, and drafting to understand form, rhythm, and structure. Alongside making, I’m drawn to research, supplemented by the Letterform Archive Lecture Series, where visiting scholars and practitioners expand my perspective on lettering, calligraphy, and type design.
